Witnessing: Thank you for the needed support and encouragement

Needed encouragement from Hollywood shaman

Bob Sofia is producer of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy (now owned by Sony). He was a main player with the IBM Watson/ Jeopardy project (great example of edutainment). Sofia was my partner when the Griffin Group financed the MetatronZ prototype (Hollywood and Silicon Valley). Sofia will be glad to have discussion with those potential participants looking for validation of this technology. Sofia knows the great need for my patented technology and is frustrated in the fact it is not commercially available. He arranged for me to have a much needed boost by asking a well-known producer to call me to give encouragement and discuss MetatronZ laser projection.  This is my note to Sofia about the conversation.     I will call the person in the phone conference Mark.

Memo: Bob Sofia

What a gift– for you to arrange a phone conference with Mark for me. The discussion with Mark was a spiritual experience.  What a master shaman.  I cannot recall another time when I have heard such wisdom and on target advice.

He provided the needed encouragement and focus. He helped me in a few minutes zero in and readjust — breaking open the blockage for the flow through.

He shook me out of my feelings of stigma that I have had since coming back to Iowa from LA and the Silicon Valley.  I sit behind closed doors. They treat me like a female abortion clinic doctor.  They have hung a big A on my chest. Stigma.

Mark called and chanted charms and threw fairy dust and turned the key releasing my head and hands from the stocks. Be careful—Mark might have unfurled the furies.

He talked to me about technology innovation. He told me that I am first foremost an artist and should claim that. His poetic charms essentially knocked me off my lonely inventor stance. He said that I created this transformational technology by putting different strands together, seeing the future as artists do. He told me I should take responsibility and seek the support needed to make sure the vision is implemented.

He explained what artists need is an agent/ mentor/ endorser/ spokesperson. I added to the list: patron. This person should be known for vision and have credibility. He paused, thinking and then stated maybe a person who is not in the spot light now.

He suggested Michael Eisner or Jeffery Katzenberg.  He also mentioned approaching the head of Cirque du Soleil. He said he would think about which agent might work.

He made it clear that he was on the way to catch a plane and had a project in which he is deeply involved so will not be available to help me except through suggestions.

He told me I could write the right letter to explain my mission and ask for help.  I told him that I keep getting waylaid by the gatekeepers. Example: No matter how I tried, I could not get a proposal in with Paul Allen so I sent a letter to the manager at his Cinerama Theater in Seattle telling him their Cinerama solution is a MetatronZ laser video projector (2009). Now Allan and manager are under threat of a being part of the infringement on my patents. Allan is placing  Christies Laser Projectors in his Cinerama screen in Seattle. Christies is infringing my patents on laser projection. Unfortunately Christies is still in the flat screen/ stereo/ 3D/ two projector phase. A lot of projection mapping will have to be done to work on a very curved Cinerama screen (costly/ time consuming/ a lot of technician support).Paul Allen, the theater manager and Christies are not following the MetatronZ IF IT IS KISS 10X10X10X formula- IF: infinite focus; IT: instant transform; IS: instant sharpness. KISS–keep it streamlined and simple with 10 times more realistic better images; 10 times less expensive/ time consuming/less technicians support (10 times more user friendly).

Mark mentioned how amazing it is that so much money is invested in technology or product that has no substance and that my product/ technology is real/ tangible and I am passed by. We did not discuss patents. He also stated that I am bringing in a new platform –which most have not yet perceived. Only an artist can do this. And that it is important for me to get the support to make sure that platform survives today.

I informed him I felt that MetatronZ could have been implemented ten years ago, but the Zuddites (modern Luddites) in the industry suppressed the laser projection and used lamps instead. I stated that I am most upset with the progress today. Digital cinema is finally experimenting with lasers but the 3D images are still stereo with glasses on flat screens. Will it be another ten years still going down wrong paths that end up in dead end alleys (like digital cinema 3D lamp technology)? How much did the global theater companies spend (thanks to Real D and the projector manufacturers) before they realized they would soon have obsolete equipment?

When will the industry realize that cinemas/ home theater owners/ gamers/simulation & training/ scientists/ doctors/ nurses/ designers/ kids/ teens/signage/ sports viewers, etc. want real time dimensional depth images without glasses on Cinerama and dome screens? When will they realize this is the long sought bridge for virtual / augmented realities?.

Mark got right to the jugular vein — right to the core of my mission. Bob, you must have provided Mark with the relevant information because he understood that the MetatronZ projector would be a catalyst for people to physically gather to have great experiences, birthing a new social movement.   I told him that MetatronZ is a tool – a new canvas that is needed for what I call the community conclave movement.

Mark said he was just a sprite throwing fairy dust. This really hit because I had been talking about sprites to my granddaughter the day before. See the picture of the Sprite in the Essence of the Wood—the show proposal we did for Michael Jackson and Roy Disney to replace Captain EO.  http://www.slideshare.net/metatroy/diane-troyer-ztv-themed-entertainment-gallary2010

I told Mark that he is a sprite, but the kind that are luminous reddish orange flashes of electrical discharges occurring above thunder storms.  His last words were for me to have faith and take action. Then I felt the luminous electrical discharges embrace me – very powerful fairy dust in deed.

Thus I join other artists and take responsibility, expressing myself, confident, doing my performance dance. As they say in the Iowa field of dreams: Build it—they will come.

Hugs,

Diane
